News anchor Devin Scillian and his wife Corey Scillian will lend their talents to Washtenaw Literacy as Honorary Hosts of the 2010 World in a Basket gala auction on the first of October. Most of us know Devin as the familiar face on Detroit's top newscast, Local First News on WDIV-TV.
But his resume doesn't stop at winning Emmys and traveling the world to bring the news to southeastern Michigan. He is also an award-winning country musician, having released two albums and garnered a Detroit Music Award.
If that weren't enough, Devin is the author of popular children's books, several of which he authored with his wife Corey. Titles like "A is for America" and "P is for Passport" reveal the Scillians' passion for education and global unity, two ideals of adult literacy.
